UW Medical Center - Northwest has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced full time (100% FTE, 40 hours per week), day shift NURSE MANAGER (job profile: Health Services Manager) to lead our inpatient Adult Psychiatric Unit. Our Adult Psychiatric Unit focuses on adults aged 18 and up, providing behavioral health care for individuals with depression, anxiety, dementia, psychosis, and psychiatric comorbidities. Our unit specializes in treatment plans, medication management, and counseling services such as occupational and recreational therapy, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy, medication stabilization, and guidance on relaxation and sleep techniques. We treat voluntary and involuntary patients alike and have 27 beds available for intake. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a team that aims to increase positive coping skills for a diverse patient population. SCHEDULE The Health Services Manager will primarily work day shifts, 40 hours per week. Our Adult Psychiatric Unit is open 24/7. RESPONSIBILITIES The Health Services Manager will oversee 70 - 75 direct reports, including Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Recreational Therapists, Assistant Nurse Managers, Certified Nursing Assistants, and Unit Secretaries. The Health Services Manager will be responsible for directing the nursing, business, technical and support activities of the Adult Psychiatric Department, including our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) and our Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Program. The Health Services Manager will oversee the administrative and clinical functions of the unit, including operations, facilities, finance, and human resources. The Health Services Manager will also provide clinical leadership on patient safety, medication management, infection control, and violence prevention. The Health Services Manager will be tasked with instituting best practices into our operations and will play a key role driving engagement, increasing clinical skill levels, and guiding our staff to provide demonstrated excellence in procedures, nursing triage, assessments, and patient care.
