Summary of Duties: The Fiscal Analyst 2 works independently under general supervision to provide comprehensive financial information, report preparation and analysis for the School of Molecular Biosciences accounts in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Review, analyze and make fiscal projections of allocations, revenue and expense in support of the entire unit. Prepare budget reports, identify and analyze trends. Verify and balance the School's operating and permanent budget allocations and expenses. Initiates and executes fiscal year budget planning including carry forwards, projections and account setup. Verify, consolidate and balance the School's revenue transfers and cash receipts. The position leads support staff and directs faculty and staff on proper business policies and fiscal procedures for operational functions including purchasing, contracts, service agreements, travel and other operational tasks related to research labs. In addition, consults with the School of Molecular Bioscience new and existing faculty, the Director and Administrative Manager on faculty accounts including startup and allowable expenditures on external grant and institutional funding. Serves as expenditure authority on department accounts. Monitors risk in operation and advises Administrative Manager of said risks. Required Qualifications:
