The medical imaging faculty positions at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine offer the opportunity to blend the benefits of the stimulation of an academic appointment at a large veterinary medical center, participating in the diverse missions of clinical practice, clinical teaching, didactic teaching and clinical or basic science scholarship and private practice teleradiology, in a supportive and collaborative environment. Unique research opportunities in collaboration with the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR), a world-class facility for human, translational, and basic science research located in the Department of Radiology in the School of Medicine are available.

We have immediate openings for 1.5 FTE contract (clinical) track positions to join a team of three radiologists and an MRI research physicist who has close ties with the CMRR and is available to foster collaborative clinical and basic science research projects suited to the candidates’ interests. Options for part-time or full time positions with flexible work schedules are negotiable. For an individual with the appropriate background, a tenure track position is available (see separate posting). Rank will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.

Primary duties will include clinical responsibilities in the Medical Imaging Service of the Veterinary Medical Center (VMC) including small and large animal diagnostic radiology and contrast procedures, small animal ultrasonography, CT, MRI, nuclear scintigraphy, and consultations to VMC faculty/house officers. Teaching responsibilities will include providing clinical instruction to interns, residents, and professional students as they rotate through the Medical Imaging service and may include participation in the Radiology didactic courses per candidate interest. Mentoring responsibilities will include mentoring and training imaging residents. Other job responsibilities include personal development, outreach, and service to the College of Veterinary Medicine and other veterinary-related professional organizations. The option to participate as a contract teleradiologist during business and non-business hours for salary augmentation is negotiable.
There are many opportunities for collaborative research within the College as well as with faculty across the other five units of the Health Sciences (Schools of Medicine,
Pharmacy, Public Health, Nursing, and Dentistry); candidates with an interest in contributing to clinical research would be viewed favorably.
