We are the largest public college of technology in New York State, and exceptional in that we go beyond traditional class offerings to create a high-tech, hands-on educational experience for our students, to prepare them for a rapidly changing world.The college invites applications for invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor level to begin during the 2022-2023 academic year. The Department of Construction Management and Civil Engineering Technology (CMCE) is a growing department with over400students. It is the only department to offer a bachelor???s degree in Construction Engineering Technology in CUNY and is ABET accredited. The department also offers associate degree programs in Civil Engineering Technology (ABET accredited) and Construction Management Technology. The department is convenient to NYC???s subway system and within walking distance of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridge, which provides easy access to NYC???s booming construction sector with ample opportunities for collaboration. The position requires a commitment to teaching, scholarly research resulting in publications and presentations, sustained service to the department, college and university, and academic advisement. The candidate hired will be expected to participate actively in College/University-wide initiatives and function collaboratively in department level efforts, playing an active role in the creation, development, and assessment of department curricula; accreditation; and maintaining the academic vitality of the department. Continued professional growth and scholarly contributions to the field are required. Day, evening, and weekend teaching and department duties may be required. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum qualifications PhD in structural engineering, civil engineering or a related field. Candidates who qualify for a doctoral equivalency (Master???s degree and professional licensure; e.g. PE, RA, LS) and extensive professional experience in related fields will be considered.
