![]() Personnel and Process Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist, Exempt I) Job No: 511330 Work Type: Locations: San Diego Categories: Unit 9 - CSUEU - Technical Support Services, Administrative, Probationary, Full Time Position Summary The library's administration is responsible for administering the policies and procedures of the University and the CSU as they affect library operations, and establishing local policies that enable the Library to provide the highest quality services possible to its users. It is the principal office of the Library, housing the dean and other administrators. In addition, staff members in this office provide various types of support to library management: clerical, development, fiscal, human resources, communication and facilities. The library's budget is approximately $11 million. In consultation with the Dean, Associate Dean, and library's Director of Financial Operations and Human Resources, the Personnel and Process Analyst coordinates the faculty reappointment, tenure and promotion (RTP) process to ensure that timelines and deadlines are met. This person is the primary resource for library managers and library faculty in all aspects of the RTP process and is fully knowledgeable about the Senate Policy File and Library Faculty Policy File. The incumbent is the liaison to Faculty Advancement for any policy and procedural changes and questions. In collaboration with the Director of Financial Operations and Human Resources, the Administrative Analyst/Specialist oversees monthly faculty and staff payroll attendance reporting. Additionally, this position serves as the library's liaison with the Center for Human Resources for staff recruitments, payroll and benefits issues and processes various Human Resource documents. The incumbent is the administrative contact for the faculty hiring process: both tenure-track and temporary hires. This person coordinates the process with the Dean, Associate Dean, Director of Financial Operations and Human Resources and the faculty hiring committees by serving as the primary contact for all parts of the hiring process. The person in this position has a lead role in the dean's administrative office and will have the ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment. Full-time, permanent (probationary) position. This position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. This position is physically located at the SDSU Main Campus in San Diego. Education and Experience Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs. Compensation and Benefits Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department's fiscal resources. Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $5,300 per month. San Diego State University offers a rich benefits package that constitutes a major portion of total compensation.
