Full time or Part time: Full Time Position Location (city): Greenville Position Number: 002242 Organizational Unit Overview: The Chief Operating Officer for ECU Physicians is responsible for all business and financial operations of ECU Physicians, the BSOM, East Carolina University (ECU) medical school faculty practice plan. In this capacity, the Chief Operating Officer for ECU Physicians advises the deans working in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer regarding overall plans, business-related policies, and programs across all clinical departments and divisions related to faculty group practice. He/she develops, plans, directs, and controls broad administrative activities toward achieving the practice plan's business and strategic objectives consistent with the mission of BSOM and in accordance with all applicable state and local laws and policies. The Chief Operating Officer for ECU Physicians identifies opportunities for business and financial improvement and recommends specific initiatives to the deans to ensure financial viability through short- and long-range planning to achieve and maintain growth. He/she will continually evaluate and make timely adjustments to strategies and plans to meet changing national, state, and local needs. The Chief Operating Officer for ECU Physicians is expected to work closely and collaboratively with the ECU Physician's faculty practice plan Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and the executive leadership of ECU Physician's Clinical Management Team to manage the clinical operations of ECU Physician's faculty practice plan and ensure premier customer service and high-quality care. Further, the Chief Operating Officer for ECU Physicians is expected to work closely with the clinical department chairs, clinical division leaders, and administrators and earn the trust and respect of BSOM clinical faculty. The Chief Operating Officer for ECU Physicians will direct the work of his/her staff, anticipate, and resolve problems, lead the decision-making process, provide consistent leadership, and maintain excellent interpersonal relations.
