Position Summary

A qualified individual is needed for a project coordinator position with the Center for Public Health Systems Science (CPHSS) at the Brown School. The project coordinator will work on a project funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Office on Smoking and Health. This long-running project focuses on the development of implementation User Guides and related materials for a primary audience of state tobacco control programs. Primary responsibilities for this position include managing the day-to-day activities of the project, including supervising project staff, overseeing guide development, and developing reports and other products. The coordinator may travel out of state one to two times per year. This individual will work as part of a team and individually to perform duties and responsibilities required to meet project needs.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Oversees the research, development, writing, and editing of a series of user guides and related materials, to meet project deliverables.
Coordinates all project activities, including managing expert interviews and serving as primary contact for external partners.
Manages the coordination all project activities, including overseeing the delineation of tasks and serving as the primary contact for external partners.
Prepares regular progress reports and final reports for funding agency.
Manages budgetary expenditures in cooperation with Center manager.
Develops and implements project timelines.
Writes and edits user guides and other project materials, translating complex information into â˜everydayâ™ language for mass audiences.
Supervises project staff.
Assists in grant development and other tasks.
Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

The individual hired for this position will work in an office setting at the Brown School and/or remotely as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Masterâ™s degree in public health, social work, social sciences, or public policy
Experience writing research/evaluation reports.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud software (e.g., Illustrator, InDesign).
Experience analyzing data (qualitative/quantitative).
Experience with report design and developing graphics for effective communication of research/evaluation findings.
Experience with tobacco prevention and cessation programs, research, or policies.
Strong project management and supervision skills.
Demonstrated superior writing and editing skills are required.
Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills.
Proficient computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office required.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including faculty, staff, students, public affairs, and health and news organizations.
Strong analytic skills and the ability to think strategically and programmatically.
Ability to represent the project effectively with scholars, students, and community groups.
Ability to work independently and exercise outstanding judgment.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a complex organizational environment.
Highly dependable and organized.

Required Qualifications

Bachelorâ™s degree in public health, social work, social sciences, or public policy and two years of experience or Masterâ™s degree.

Salary Range

$38,900.00 - $70,600.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
