Position Summary The Assistant Controller plays a highly visible and key role in providing critical financial and strategic consultation to leaders across the organization. This position supports all aspects of financial planning, P&L review, and other complex financial analyses required to keep the profitable and sustained growth of the business. The Assistant Controller reports to the Division Controller with a shared responsibility to the Vice-president of Abbott Point of Care. It provides business and financial counsel and direction to the overall Abbott Point organization. This includes financial analysis and counsel related to the HQ functions-including Global Commercial Operations and Global Strategic Marketing. This role is also responsible for delivering analytics and business support to enable informed decision making by executive staff and quality presentation of performance summaries to be shared with senior leaders across the Division and Corporation. The position will analyze the organization's financial forecasts for sales and margin to ensure they are reasonable and consistent with management expectations and ready to be presented to Executive levels in Division and Corporate. It will also identify gaps and work with the Division staff and Controllers to develop action plans to mitigate them. Additionally, it sets expectations of the financial organizations' role in supporting the business strategies, including alignment with other functional organizations. Main Responsibilities
Position Qualifications Bachelor's degree, preferably in finance/accounting, An MBA, CPA, or CMA is strongly preferred, ten or more years of diverse financial experience, including financial planning, reporting and analysis, general accounting, cost accounting, and internal control.
