Position DescriptionThe Milgard School of Business at the University of Washington Tacoma invites applications for one full-time non-tenure-track temporary lecturer position to teach undergraduate and graduate courses. This full-time position has a 9-month service period, September 16, 2022 - June 15, 2023. Candidates must be able to teach a variety of information systems and business analytics courses. Specific teaching needs may include: introductory information technology/systems and quantitative analysis for business (e.g. mathematical modeling, statistics, optimization and regression models) classes required for all of our business school undergraduate majors and minors; data management, business intelligence and predictive analytics courses required for our undergraduate minor in business data analytics and as electives for other majors; graduate level classes in data and text mining with R & Python, cognitive analytics, project management, big data management, applied regression models, and electives for our master of science business analytics program. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a record of involvement, participation, and/or leadership that maintains qualifications required for accreditation (AACSB) purposes. The successful candidate will also assist in the development of curriculum, promote continuous improvement, and actively collaborate with colleagues in service of our school and university's mission. The successful applicant is expected to be an integral member of a team of faculty and staff that are committed to excellence and further expanding a growing successful center for business analytics and analytics innovations programs at UW Tacoma. The successful candidate be expected to provide meaningful service to the university, the business school, and the community. QualificationsCandidates must have at least a Master's degree in Business Analytics & Intelligence, Management Information Systems/Information Technology, Computer Science/Engineering, Operations Management, Management Science, Decision Science, Industrial/Electrical Engineering, Economics, Statistics, or a related field. Professional work experience is not required but preferred. Qualifications include experience in curriculum development and teaching in multiple modalities, including online, hybrid and in-person, as well as experience teaching in an urban-serving campus environment with a diverse student body, many of whom are first generation college students.
