The Chief Financial Officer/Assistant Dean of the Law School works in close collaboration with the Dean and other members of the Law School senior management team to establish policies and procedures, formulate the strategic direction of the School, and develop long-range plans aimed at furthering the School's mission of teaching, scholarship, and public service. Incumbent is accountable for the entire Law School's budget comprised of a combination of state funding, professional school fees, extramural funds and sales and service funds, as well as endowment funds. Develops a competitive positioning strategy that considers collaboration with peer law schools and other UC campuses. Serves in a senior advisory capacity in developing a strategy for the recruitment and retention of faculty, facilitating donor cultivation and fund-raising goals, establishing and maintaining research centers and student support programs and directing the on-going development and maintenance of a large and highly complex administrative and financial structure. In collaboration with the Director of Finance, responsible for the preparation, review and oversight of the school's annual and long-term operating budgets, overall accounting operations include gift, contract and grant and self-supporting revenue generating programs. Reports directly to the Dean of the School of Law and serves as a senior member of the Dean's management team. Acts with a large degree of autonomy under broad guidelines from the Dean. Directly supervises the Director of Finance and overseas the leadership and engagement of the Law School's finance team to maximize organizational performance by focusing on organizational strategies, operational performance, employee performance and ensures a positive working environment and successful employee experience. Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across the organization at all levels; ability to interact with diverse populations.
