In a highly complex and constantly changing backdrop, Financial Management Services is responsible for creating an environment which promotes innovative and sound business policies and practices that balance controls, compliance, and customer service. The organization consists of approximately 200 professionals, responsible for a broad range of financial activities, including Financial Accounting and Reporting, Payroll, Procurement Services, and Tax Compliance.
JOB PURPOSE: Investment Accountant will be involved in a wide range of investment accounting and operational activities across multiple asset classes - cash, fixed income, public and private equity, hedge funds, venture capital, real estate, and other alternative asset classes. The Investment Accountant will be responsible for maintenance of the general ledger and investment accounting systems, preparation of bank and external fund manager reconciliations, completion of monthly valuation processes, preparation of ad-hoc management reports and financial statements, supervision of certain accounting processes, and preparation and maintenance of department desktop procedures and department documents. This position involves heavy reconciliations and requires interaction outside of the department to resolve open issues. An ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills supported by excellent attention to detail.
