Reporting to the Associate Chair of Administration and Finance, the Senior Finance Director leads the Office of Financial Planning, Analysis and Accounting (FPAA) and is charged with managing the overall financial portfolio for the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences across all sites and mission areas. This person will be responsible for the development and management of the department's financial models, contracts, resources, reporting mechanisms and budgets and holds fiduciary responsibility to maintain and adhere financial compliance with the University of California and external regulatory policies, guidelines and requirements. The Senior Finance Director will collaborate, inform and advise leadership (Chair, Associate Chair, Vice Chairs, Division Directors, UCSF Health) on financial issues that will drive short and long term strategies. This person will also develop innovative approaches to address operational and financial challenges and bottlenecks, establish and maintain proper internal controls, and will design and lead business process improvements.

This position will lead a team of managers and analysts to produce scheduled financial reports, clinical productivity reports, clinical productivity dashboard data, and ad hoc financial analyses. It is expected that the Senior Finance Director will function as a "working" manager, providing direct day to day fiscal administration and management. In addition, the Senior Finance Director will work with the Director of Research Administration to optimize financial reporting and performance of the department's research programs, and assure appropriate financial management of grants, gifts and other endowments.
