The Center supports one of the broadest ranges of cancer activities in the nation – from fundamental and translational cancer research in molecular genetics and advanced molecular therapeutics, and from population studies of cancer incidence to community education about cancer prevention and risk reduction. The Assistant Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the transactional level responsibilities and analysis of the sponsored projects within the Moores Cancer Center (MCC) portfolio. This position will have a high level of transactions they are responsible for, both in executing and organizing. Serve as a financial support person for all the Fund Managers within the MCC; receives additional work direction from the Assistant Director of Research Finance. The Assistant Financial Analyst is responsible for serving MCC with various financial issues and topics of differing complexity: performs direct retros, funding changes and other transactions; performs financial and operational transactional roles within the Department, including approval of employee reimbursement and other expense transactions, and review of samples from department transaction sampling plan; completes projects accepted from a diverse range of personnel; acts as a positive and contributing team player with strong professional commitment; acts in a professional capacity, applying skills to support evaluation of significant business needs/problems; supports the research, analysis, and evaluation of financial and operational proposals and relevant policies, procedures, and regulations; and responds to requests by converting financial data to actionable information to provide forecasts and recommendations.
