Carnegie Mellon University invites applications for a Psychotherapy Program Director position at Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), within the Community Health and Well-Being unit of the Division of Student Affairs. This position is a full-time, 12-month position reporting directly to the Associate Director of Clinical Services. The role will oversee individual and group psychotherapy services at CAPS, and in collaboration with the Associate Director of Clinical services, help determine a strategy to ensure the provision of best possible psychotherapy services to CMU students. The Psychotherapy Program Director will have the opportunity to lead a team of mental health professionals in a department committed to integrating global social justice perspectives in inter-culturally sensitive community well-being. The Program Director brings vision, leadership and active engagement that takes into account institutional and departmental needs while contributing to staff development and clinical practice from a global social justice lens. The role of Program Director of Psychotherapy Services includes providing administrative oversight and ensuring the optimal functioning of CaPS psychotherapy services, providing administrative supervision to psychotherapists and contract therapy staff, providing consultation and/or clinical supervision as needed to staff providing psychotherapy, and in collaboration with the Associate Director of Clinical Services, updating clinical policy and procedures as it relates to individual and group psychotherapy services. Additionally, the person in this position provides direct counseling/psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and outreach/prevention services to CMU students. This position works with the CaPS leadership team in developing and implementing policy consistent with institutional needs and ethical professional practice. Your core responsibilities will include:
