We strive to challenge gender inequities and advance the rights of women and gender non-conforming people by elevating student activism and leadership through innovative and transformative programming. Job OverviewUC is seeking an Assistant Director for the Women's Center, a full-time professional staff member reporting to the Women's Center Director. Serving as a key member of a collaborative UCWC team, the Assistant Director serves as an advocate and mentor for women and gender variant students with attention to individuals' diverse identities. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and coordinating programs that support student identity and leadership development, retention, and success and for facilitating workshops and trainings that advance gender equity and social justice through an intersectional lens.
The Assistant Director will engage a diverse community of student activists, leaders, and changemakers while collaborating with campus partners to build student-focused leadership, internship, and other professional development opportunities. They will grow and evaluate the Center's mentorship and networking programs for women, femme, and gender non-conforming students (ex. STEMinist program, Women in Leadership and Learning), including curriculum design and assessment of learning outcomes. Coordinate and co-facilitate workshops (ex. AAUW's Start Smart, Feminist Leadership 101), and mentor student staff into effective leaders, confident activists, and outreach ambassadors. This position assists with planning annual signature events such as the Black Feminist Symposium and WC Awards Ceremony.
This position is responsible for assisting with recruiting, hiring, and supervising both professional and student staff, including a Program Manager and a Graduate Assistant, supporting their professional development and growth, evaluating work performance, and fostering positive team dynamics. The Assistant Director will assist the Director in developing budgets, monitoring expenditures, assessing programs and events, and preparing periodic reports. Essential Functions
