The Joint Graduate Program in Bioengineering is actively seeking a highly motivated program coordinator possessing exemplary communication, interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills to provide comprehensive support for the program's long-term and short-term operations. The Academic Program Coordinator for the Joint Graduate Program in Bioengineering will assume responsibility for a diverse range of administrative and student services duties. Reporting directly to the Bioengineering Program manager, the coordinator will manage student records, files, and database entries, and develop and distribute marketing materials. Additionally, they will be accountable for planning program events such as recruitment days and annual conferences, and will handle procurement and inventory management, ensuring end-to-end tracking. The Coordinator will play a pivotal role in organizing the operational aspects of the graduate program. This will involve preparing necessary materials for events and meetings and potential attendance and staffing of off-site, overnight, or weekend events such as the annual conference and retreat. A successful candidate should possess extensive experience as a seasoned administrative operation professional, capable of effectively managing, planning, and administering the operations of the BioE graduate program at UCSF--an academic unit of moderate size. They may be responsible for overseeing students during event planning and collaborative projects and should demonstrate a firm understanding of privacy guidelines, including FERPA and HIPAA, as well as mandated reporting guidelines established by the state of California. The program coordinator should exercise sound judgment when selecting methods and techniques to address a wide array of issues, ranging from individual student needs to process improvement implementation. **NOTE: This appointment is a one-year contract with the strong opportunity for renewal/transition to career at the end of the 1-year appointment term.
