Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Business Assistant II for the Bloustein School of Planning and Policy.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
Prepares and coordinates administrative work for the unit, which may include personnel, purchasing, policy dissemination and application, and office operations/maintenance.
Provides support to research staff on all center IRB submissions; this includes preparation of submissions in the eIRB system as well as overseeing correspondence between center staff and IRB administrators.
Day-to-day accounting support, purchasing, payroll, and bill payment functions.
Absence reporting for all center employees.
Cash-handling management.
Maintains of financial records and accounts (including participant support and metered mail reports).
Monitors accounts, reconciling payment to accounts and making appropriate adjustments.
Prepares documents relating to grants including budgets, endorsements, sub-contracts and consulting agreements, financial reports and analysis, and other related material.
Performs other related duties as necessary.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.

Equipment Utilized:
All Oracle applications (purchasing, Oracle and RAPSS), effort certification system and expense management.
Additionally, Microsoft office suite and the eIRB platform.
Individual must be willing to learn new systems as they are introduced to the University and school for functions normally supported by the office.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Requires organizing and moving boxes of supplies and surveys into allocated storage areas throughout the office on various projects.
Boxes may weigh up to 20lbs.
Moving and setting up tables and chairs for group meetings.
