The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, within the Stanford University Department of Medicine, is seeking an Associate Director of Finance (ADF), to manage staff responsible for complex finance and control functions, and manage overall finance operations for the division. The Associate Director will have a key leadership role within the division, leading a large finance team and partnering with the Senior Administrative Division Director and the Division Chief on division-wide projects. This is a great opportunity for a mission-driven finance person with a passion for supporting a world-class organization. There are over 400 sponsored and non-sponsored accounts in the Division with a consolidated budget of approximately $65M. The ADF has 2 direct reports and overall leads a finance team of 8 who support over 90 faculty. The successful candidate will be able to influence and lead process improvements in the tracking and reporting of finance portfolios and will be responsible for the continued financial success of the division and individual faculty. The Associate Director will foresee challenges and provide alternatives to ensure compliance with all regulations, internal and external to Stanford. In leading the finance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for coaching, development, feedback, and mentoring the finance team members to ensure their optimal performance and career development. The ADM/FM is expected to be an excellent communicator with both faculty and staff and highly trustworthy and reliable in managing the complex financial portfolio of the Division. This is a hybrid role that will work from the Stanford Medical Center in Palo Alto at least two times per week with the option to work from a non-Stanford site, such as at home, the remaining days of the week. The expected pay range for this position is $140,000 to $180,000 per annum. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
