The Facilities Contracts Associate provides support to the Cornell campus for the preparation of contractual documents and associated processes for design, consulting, bidding, and construction services. Initiative, independent decision-making, and proactive support are needed to advance the goals of Facilities and Campus Services and the University. Position Summary: Facilities Contracts plays a critical role for the University by ensuring that all the processes for Consulting and Construction Contracts are performed to the utmost accuracy and reliability. This position reports to the Manager of Facilities Contracts. The Contracts Associate is responsible for preparing contractual documents and managing other associated processes for design, consulting, bidding, and construction services and maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy of work for the department. This includes editing and issuing requests for proposals (RFP), contracts, project approval requests, task authorizations, review of Bonds and Certificates of Insurance for compliance with contract specific terms and conditions and other functions of Facilities Contracts. This position requires excellent written and communication skills, attention to detail, and the independent prioritization of workload. This position provides guidance and serves as an information resource for the campus community. This position also develops and maintains collaborative working relationships with clients, contractors, and design professionals both internal and external to the University. The Contracts Associate must maintain up-to-date knowledge of Cornell and SUNY contractual and bidding procedures and policies and information management systems as well as updating department procedures as required.
