Description: The postdoc research associate will conduct research on value added processing of agricultural wastes, mainly poultry litter and swine waste for biofuels and fertilizers. Specifically, the postdoc research associate will develop and implement creative experimental procedures to recover nitrogen and minerals in poultry litter as a high-value fertilizer and meanwhile prepare a carbon-rich solid fuel for thermochemical conversion. The research associate will use advanced data analytical tools to correlate experimental data. The research associate will also publish research results, in collaboration with other researchers and students in high impact journals and present research results at professional meetings and monthly project meetings. The research associate will involve providing literature review and preliminary data for developing research proposals. The research associate will train and help to supervise graduate and undergraduate students whose main supervisor is the professor. The postdoc will help train students in the use of instruments, trouble shooting and fixing of equipment, train students in data analysis and in general provide supervision of student activities in the lab, while working with them. The research associate will assist in compiling the list of laboratory supplies needed by graduate and undergraduate students. Maintain experimental records in labs.
