Company Overview We are the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM), an innovative professional medical association located in Darien, IL, a southwest suburb of Chicago. Established in 1975, the AASM is a professional, forward-thinking membership organization dedicated to the advancement of sleep medicine and related research. Our mission is to assure quality care for patients with sleep disorders, promote the advancement of sleep research, and provide public and professional education. We represent a combined membership of 12,000 accredited member sleep centers and individual members, including physicians, scientists, and other healthcare professionals. In pursuit of improving sleep health and promoting high-quality patient-centered care for all people, the AASM is dedicated to fostering a culture that is committed to excellence, inclusive, flexible, collaborative, appreciative, supportive, and innovative. We strive to live out these core values each day and are looking for others who would like to do the same. While office presence is not required for this hybrid position, we strongly encourage our employees to work in the office two days a week, with Wednesday as an anchor day to strengthen our collaborative and supportive culture. Managers (with direct reports) will be required to work in the office on the anchor day. There will be instances in the future for everyone to report to the office for certain staff meetings/functions. As a result, only local candidates will be considered for this position. Job Summary We have an immediate need for an experienced scientific or health-related researcher who will partner with task forces to manage the development of new and updated systematic reviews and clinical practice guidelines, position papers, and consensus documents. We’re looking for a methodical thinker who can provide our volunteer task force members with the information they need to write evidence-based guidelines on behalf of the AASM by conducting literature searches, evidence extraction, and meta-analysis. The ideal candidate will also have experience as either an author or a contributor to other guidelines or technical or scientific papers. As a staff liaison, this individual will keep the volunteers focused on their deliverables and provide pre/post conference call support. Responsibilities and Duties
