Johns Hopkins University has a $6 billion annual operating budget in addition to a $300 million annual capital budget. The University is made up of nine academic divisions, Sheridan Libraries, the Applied Physics Laboratory and several independent institutes. The University Administration Business Office reports to the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer which works collaboratively across the University to support high-level financial plans and strategic planning issues and initiatives. The University Administration Business Office oversees financial planning, analysis, and reporting for the university's central administration business units. University Administration (UA) supports the teaching, research and clinical mission of the University and its divisions by providing common administrative infrastructure and services; identifying and addressing shared challenges; and facilitating collaboration across the University and Johns Hopkins Health System. UA has an annual operating budget of more than $300 million from all funds, includes approximately 25 offices and departments, and has more than 1,600 full-time employees. We are seeking a Sr. Accountant who will report to the Senior Financial Manager for the University Administration Business Office. This person will perform routine and complex accounting activities for the central University Administration office, requiring knowledge of systems, independent judgment and an ability to respond accordingly. In addition, this will require close collaboration with all the departments within University Administration as well as University divisions to ensure consistency and accuracy across the entire division. S/he oversees activities on various accounts, analyzes past and current data and prepares expense projections and operational forecasts. Finally, this person will not only have accounting responsibilities but will also assist with all aspect of the financial analysis and planning in collaboration with the rest of the UA finance team.
