Position Summary

The Center for Workforce Development (CWD) at William James College seeks applications from qualified candidates for the position of Program Manager. In this role, the Program Manager will oversee school- and community-based workforce development initiatives for the CWD, collaborate with various stakeholders, supervise trainees, and work jointly with the administrative team to implement grant-funded projects. This is a full-time position for a master-level candidate with clinical and supervisory-related experiences, and a background or strong interest in overseeing career ladder programs for underserved populations. The Program Manager will report to the Vice President for Workforce Initiatives and the Chair of the School Psychology Department. 

Essential Functions

• Manage career ladder and workforce development programs, with a focus on recruiting, training, and retaining individuals who are underrepresented in the field. 
• Provide leadership and administrative support to the team to develop, implement, and manage grant-funded workforce development projects.
• Build strong relationships among internal departments at the College and external partners.
• Collaborate with the management team to ensure successful communication and coordination between program staff, faculty, students, and other key stakeholders.
• Manage the application review process to identify and recruit students, support trainees, and maintain detailed records of all outreach and recruitment efforts.
• Coordinate activities for students, program participants, supervisors, and community-based partners.
• Plan professional development workshops, conferences, and Continuing Education events.
• Supervise junior staff and students.
• Provide technical assistance and ongoing support to the College’s workforce development initiatives.
• Lead presentations on workforce development topics at meetings, seminars, and conferences.
• Ensure compliance with funding agency guidelines and timelines, as appropriate. 
• Perform other related tasks, as assigned. 

Skills & Qualifications 

• Master’s/CAGS degree in counseling, school psychology, education, public health, or a related field (Preferred) 
• Work-related experience in human services or non-profit agencies.
• Strong interest in overseeing career ladder programs for culturally diverse populations.
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Strong organizational, and written and oral communication skills.
• Familiarity with database management and social media platforms.
• Proficiency with technology (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Qualtrics) and other web-based tools, data collection and database management, and webinar facilitation.
• Ability to work independently, problem solve, and provide good client and customer support.
• Experience in building partnerships with community-based organizations and working with a diverse staff and student body.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to the health and well-being of culturally diverse populations and underserved communities.
• Ability to lead, supervise, and evaluate staff.
• Ability to adapt to the culture of a mission-drive, fast-paced academic environment. 
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
• Ability to assume employment in the United States without College Sponsorship.
