Learn more about the UC Office of the President DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW The California Digital Library (CDL) is a collaborative effort of the ten campuses of the University of California. As a UC systemwide library, CDL provides services to and on behalf of the UC system in partnership with the UC campus libraries. As a globally connected digital library, CDL occupies a unique position between the local UC campuses and the global digital library infrastructure. The primary user base for CDL services and programs includes UC faculty, students, and library staff. The CDL is a unit within the UC Office of the President (UCOP), has a staff of 75+ and is located in downtown Oakland. POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the CDL Director of Finance and Operations, the Financial Analyst is responsible for working collaboratively across CDL programs to provide comprehensive financial and budgetary services. The position interacts frequently with the CDL Finance Manager, and the UC Office of the President financial services units, including the Business Resource Center, Budget Analysis and Planning, and Procurement Services. The incumbent will assume a key role in the annual budget process; produce monthly and quarterly expenditure reports; analyze portfolio spending patterns and trends; analyze and resolve problems; interpret policies (e.g., fiscal management, HR, contracts and grants, resource management in defined areas); demonstrate solid subject matter knowledge; and contribute to the successful operation of CDL financial services. The ideal candidate will use advanced professional concepts and organizational objectives to resolve complex problems in creative and effective ways; work on nuanced issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors; and exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. The CDL finance team is based in the UC Office of the President downtown Oakland offices. California residents from outside the Bay Area who wish to work remotely will be considered. Responsibilities Required Qualifications Education SALARY AND BENEFITS Job Title Financial Analyst 3 Job Code 007709 Salary Grade Grade 22 Payscale: $94,000 - $107,000 Full Salary Range: $77,600 - $140,400 The University of California, Office of the President, is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
