Professional (+) (Fixed Term) Time Type: Full time Position Term: 12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties: The Research Intern will assist in soil health research focused on potato cropping systems in the Pacific Northwest. The Research Intern will primarily oversee operations in a soil health analysis laboratory. Work will include travel with lab members to field sites in the Columbia basin to collect data and soil and plant samples and will work independently to coordinate and run soil and plant laboratory analyses. The position will supervise and train undergraduate students in preparing soil and plant samples for analyses by sieving, weighing, grinding and cleaning. The position will also track, enter and organize laboratory and field data into spreadsheets. The Research intern will identify and order appropriate reagents, consumables, and equipment necessary for field and laboratory research, and will organize and track laboratory budget expenses, chemical hygiene plan and other mandatory training for lab members.
