Formal teaching in undergraduate and graduate courses and academic service are also required with final effort distribution based on candidate qualifications and interest. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and/or maintain a productive, extramurally funded research program in the School of Molecular Biosciences (SMB). Candidates with a focus in developmental biology or reproductive biology in either male or female reproductive tract or gonad development and function that complements existing research programs in SMB are especially encouraged to apply. Current strengths in the group include computational biology and comparative genomics, somatic cell control of spermatogenesis, germ stem cell biology, implantation, reproductive tissue aging and regeneration, altered germ cell differentiation and pregnancy complications associated with metabolic syndromes, reproductive toxicology (environmental and cannabis exposure), and gynecological disorders including endometriosis. As the Director of the Center for Reproductive Biology, the successful candidate will be expected to administer the Center's state-funded operating budget in a manner that supports existing research service cores and builds strategically to bolster the research enterprise in reproductive biology. The Director is also expected to serve as the point person at the administrative level to advocate for sustaining and growing the Center's faculty base and financial support. Required Qualifications: An earned doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Biomedical Sciences/ Reproductive Biology or a related field by the hire date is required at all ranks. Associate Professor: Additional demonstration of a successful research program supported by extramural funding is required. Full Professor: Additional 3 years of service in a research and leadership position with a demonstrated record of achievement in the candidate's field of study as well as a record of service and leadership are required. All Ranks: Must have demonstrated the ability to conduct hypothesis-based research and publish high-quality papers in top-tier journals; a track record of successfully competing for extramural funding, and history or interest in contributing to high-quality undergraduate and graduate education. The School of Molecular Biosciences seeks candidates whose research, teaching, or service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education. Preferred Qualifications: For all ranks, the applicant's research area must be compatible with or complementary to a current research focus in the Center for Reproductive Biology and/or the School of Molecular Biosciences. In particular, the candidate should have a major research interest in an aspects of animal reproduction and/or development.
