You will promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act, and demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.What You Bring/Job Requirements:In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: *Education Requirements** Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement* Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred* Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs*Experience Requirements** 1-2 years experience preferred* Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty* Prefer high risk OB experience*Licences/Certification Requirements** RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact* BLS American Heart Association required within 8 weeks of hire or transfer* EFM required within 6 months of hire or transfer* NRP required within 6 months of hire or transfer* RNC-OB preferred* ACLS preferred*Physical Requirements ** Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)SCHEDULE: 7P - 7:30 A shifts. 5 shifts/6 weeks. call is mandatory and usually about 18 hours/6 weeks schedule. 2 weekend shifts and 1 winter and 1 summer holiday.Your Connected Community:When people and places align, incredible things happen. The Labor and Delivery department at St. Francis Medical Center is a unit with ten high-risk antepartum beds and 12 LDR suites, with 250 deliveries per month. We have two ORs, a three-bay PACU and a seven- bed OB Emergency Department. Our department has a mission to ensure the families of Southern Colorado have the safest care while delivering their babies. We offer self-scheduling and great teamwork.
