Schedule: Full Time Shift: Nights The role you’ll contribute: This position is responsible for analyzing, producing, compiling and presenting information for the benefit of management and financial decision-making. It serves as a liaison between the corporate office and the hospital to provide analysis and support in decision-making. The value you’ll bring to the team: Gathers needed statistics and data from the hospital on an annual and/or as-needed basis to support current and accurate costing. Prepares and maintains complex and significant journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and subsidiary ledgers Produces financial statements, budget-to-actual reports, and prepares narrative explaining the financial statements Prepares, analyzes, maintains, and explains trend information Prepares complex and significant audit and/or tax work papers. Assists with paperwork associated with the annual audit The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: General Accounting Principles and procedures applied in a complex medium to large healthcare or corporate environment Intermediate proficiency in use of Microsoft Excel and Word Competency in using Microsoft Excel Pivot tables, macros, lookup functions and subtotals Competency in setting up Monarch models Senior level general ledger accounting Project management experience Learns quickly, including multiple information systems and organizational specific closing methodologies Performs well in a fast-paced environment and adapts quickly to changing priorities Receives general instructions and executes work independently Excellent written and oral communication skills Team building and collaboration Analytical skills and attention to detail Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED: Health care specific accounting principles and procedures Knowledge of General Ledger Financial Systems Healthcare specific governmental reimbursement and regulatory principles including but not limited to a working knowledge of Medicare cost reporting Experience in preparation and filing of external tax reports AdventHealth’s current cost accounting system EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Four-year degree in Accounting or Finance Four to five years of Healthcare Cost Accounting or similar experience, which may vary based upon the tasks for which the employee is responsible. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: Healthcare Finance and/or Accounting
