Visit www.LaGuardia.edu to learn more. The Natural Sciences Department at LaGuardia Community College offers three undergraduate degree programs: Biology, Environmental Science, and Physical Science. The Department is home to 42 full-time faculty as well as 12 full-time CLTs and expert staff committed to equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to succeed in their professional careers. The Department of Natural Sciences offers science- and non-science majors courses. We offer in-person and online lectures and labs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: ??? Work with faculty and the scientific community to continuously facilitate active learning in higher education through pedagogy and course design. ??? Teach courses in in-person, online, or hybrid class formats. ??? The Lecturer will be welcome to develop new courses in their area of expertise and participate at all levels in Departmental functions. ??? Performs teaching, research, advising, and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. ??? Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments, including administrative, supervisory, and other functions. QUALIFICATIONS For Lecturer: Master's degree in Biology or related field. For Lecturer (Doctoral Schedule): PhD in Biology or related fields or Doctor of Medicine. Demonstrated scholarship and academic achievement. For both: ??? A minimum of 3 years of experience demonstrating the ability to teach Anatomy and Physiology. ??? Ability to teach other Biology courses, such as General Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, and/or General Microbiology. ??? Evidence of teaching multi-section courses. ??? Evidence of understanding and/or participating in higher education outcomes assessment. ??? Experience in using social media and other high-tech outreach for recruitment and enrollment purposes. ??? Commitment to helping ensure diverse, equitable, and inclusive programs that center Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. ??? Highly organized and focused with superior follow-through and attention to detail. ??? Strong time management skills and experience meeting multiple project objectives. ??? Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills. COMPENSATION For Lecturer: $52,072 - $69,983 For Lecturer (Doctoral Schedule: $ 56,821 - $75,215 Commensurate with Experience and Credentials.
