Location: St. Cloud Full/Part Time: Full Time Employment Condition: Unlimited Job Description: The Director of Institutional Effectiveness, Assessment, & Research provides leadership in managing college data and performs all essential functions related to the identification, collection, interpretation, and communication of institutional data for planning, assessment, and decision-making purposes. This position works collaboratively with college constituents to prioritize research agendas; design and manage datasets and research projects; to provide consultative guidance and oversight on assessment processes and survey instruments; to support data informed decision-making collegewide; and to ensure access to and integrity of college data. The Director implements operational strategy and provides daily oversight for the college's research department and effectively sustains a data-informed organizational culture in furtherment of the institution's strategic goals including achievement of equity in educational outcomes by race, socioeconomic status, and geographic location. Job duties include, but are not limited to: · Assessment and Research: Facilitate the provision and distribution of institutional information, data, and analysis to support the research and reporting needs of the college. · Collaboration and Relationships: Responsible for the administration and strategic application of college data and research resources in support of administration and department needs. · Administration and Leadership: Lead, supervise, and direct department personnel to ensure staff are skilled and available as needed, collective bargaining agreements and Minnesota State policies and procedures are implemented and appropriately enforced, and projects are staffed correctly to meet deadlines and stay within budget. · Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the positive reputation of the department and organization as a viable business partner. Required Qualifications: · Master's degree; major field of study or degree emphasis in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Psychology or Sociology with an emphasis on quantitative research methods. · Ability to communicate (written, verbal, listening, and human relations) in a culturally responsive manner on a diverse college campus, including helping various communities understand data and its implications. · At least one (1) year of supervisory experience. · Solid knowledge of and experience with quantitative and qualitative research methodologies applicable to postsecondary education sufficient to provide guidance and direction to staff and consultants engaged in these activities. · Ability to effectively query and analyze data from large relational databases, including Excel, PowerBI, SQL, R, and other data analysis programs. · Ability to effectively identify, interpret, and present significant trends through the use of data. · General understanding of higher education and issues surrounding enrollment and accountability. · Experience coordinating and effectively prioritizing the institutional research needs for a complex organization. · Fiscal management experience in developing and administering budgets. Preferred Qualifications: · Extensive supervisory experience, particularly in project management, designing and implementing work plans and goals, and clearly establishing work priorities. · Demonstrated knowledge of assessing and advancing racial equity in higher education, especially in course success outcomes and climate assessments. · Proven experience preparing and communicating data reports and recommendations to advance an organization's equity and inclusion goals, including designing inclusive survey instruments. · Experience designing and administering program evaluation. · Ability to coordinate several simultaneous activities to meet organizational goals and objectives. · Ability to be flexible, innovative, and responsive to change by recognizing problems and generating solutions.
