The UCPath Center is the University of California's shared services center in Riverside, CA. The UCPath Center manages the payroll, benefits, and other human resources transactions for more than 200,000 UC employees working across ten UC campuses, five medical centers, three national labs and more. Position Summary Design, develop and implement guidance and procedures for UCPath and location teams to ensure university compliance with academic policy and contractual objectives and obligations.
Key Responsibilities
· 25% Serves as the UCPath subject matter expert (SME) for academic personnel and labor relations matters with a solid understanding of UCPath transactions, payroll processing and staff and academic personnel policies. Serves as the primary UCPath point of contact and convener for the communities of interest (COI) in these areas. Serves as the primary point of contact with systemwide and location academic personnel and labor relations offices and center of expertise (COE) functions. Works closely with these groups to identify and resolve ongoing and emerging issues.
· 25% Coordinates among labor relations and applicable COE offices and engages UCPath teams to ensure smooth implementation of policy, contractual or compensation changes. In addition, advises these offices about UCPath processes and capabilities to minimize implementation, operational and system complexity when planning policy, contractual or compensation changes. Leads initiatives to improve processes in these areas within and across location and UCPath operations. For bargaining or policy changes, ensures appropriate UCPath resources are informed and engaged, participates in implementation planning and tracks implementation progress for UCPath and external leaders. Ensures that requirements are documented and vetted and that resulting changes align to documented requirements.
· 25% Maintains a working knowledge of labor agreements, staff and academic personnel policies and relevant legal requirements and keeps abreast of issues and plans that affect academic and bargaining unit employees to identify, recommend and coordinate implementation of solutions and approaches. This includes attending UCPath leadership, UCPath governance, COE and COI meetings, in addition to meeting regularly with Academic Personnel and Programs (APP) and Systemwide Labor Relations offices. Works closely with APP and Systemwide Labor Relations on upcoming and ongoing bargaining and policy changes with UCPath implications.
· 25% Collaborates as needed to identify and develop job aids and/or other resources related to contractual or policy changes. Works with UCPath SMEs and the training team to review such requests and ensure that training resources are consistent with UCPath functionality. Reviews UCPath change requests for impacts to bargaining unit and academic employees and for emerging training needs.
Experience Required Qualifications
· Min 8 years Academic personnel with related labor relations experience or a combination of academic personnel and human resources with related labor relations experience

· Advanced knowledge of the organizational development and effectiveness field, theories, models to assess, design and implement customized, strategic organization interventions.

· Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary: The University of California, Office of the President, is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience. The full salary range shows the growth potential for this position and the pay scale is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This position is eligible for a remote work arrangement within the state of California. The selected candidate must reside within the state of California or be willing to relocate, or be willing to relocate, and may be required to report to work in person at the UCPath Center in Riverside, CA.
