Duties & Responsibilities:

• Independently manage the identification, cultivation and solicitation process for a portfolio of approximately 150 prospects, which includes a portfolio of prospects in one or more regions outside of New York City.
• Conduct a minimum of 120 prospect meetings annually, with responsibility for managing communications and follow-up, including maintaining detailed activity reports and move management information on all prospects in the portfolio.
• Serve as an integral team leader and will work as a department liaison for two or three centers and/or programs. Also serve as an integral part of the team with the Vice President, Assistant Vice President, Director, and others.
• Work collaboratively with the Executive Director of Leadership Giving, Development and Alumnae Relations to ensure that outreach across the office to alumnae, parents and donors is coordinated and effective. Assist the Executive Director with special fundraising strategy projects as needed.
• Participate in major gift meetings to coordinate the major gift program, as well as prospect review meetings to discuss specific prospect strategies as they relate to prioritized fundraising needs.
• Serve as department liaison for one or more centers and/or programs on issues related to strategy, fundraising, and events. Provide consultation and assistance in enabling the center to achieve increased exposure, funding support, and alumnae, parent, donor and community engagement.
• Interact with College contacts such as Deans, Directors, faculty, officers and other Development staff to consult on needs, formulate proposal strategies, and identify potential donors.
• Promote positive donor relations and stewardship.
• Evaluate various gift opportunities and giving vehicles; recommend the most suitable for a particular donor.
• Collaborate with the Executive Director in the planning and execution of cultivation and solicitation events associated with the major gifts program.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Ability to handle a multitude of tasks under deadline pressures and have the ability to work in a high-volume, high-demand (but highly collaborative, supportive, team-oriented) office.
• Ability to be creative, enterprising, persuasive, and tactful.
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Some travel, evenings and weekend hours required.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and/or internationally.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of fundraising experience or equivalent sales, marketing, or customer relations experience required, with a proven track record of closing six-figure gifts preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in Higher Education preferred

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to perform customary office tasks such as sitting, walking, standing, computing, and answering telephone for moderate to prolonged periods of time combined with light to moderate reaching, bending and lifting, with the ability to lift items weighing as much as 25 lbs.

Salary Range:

$105,000-$110,000

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
