Department Name: 40132:Collaborative Grant Services Job Summary: The University of Kentucky is excited to announce a new position in the Collaborative Grant Services (CGS) office/unit of the Vice President of Research. This position is the result of a nearly year-long initiative to enhance administrative support for sponsored research at the University by providing high-quality, customer-service focused, and compliant research administration support to a large and varied group of investigators – faculty, staff, and students who are involved in innovative research across numerous disciplines, creating, discovering, and exploring the most complex problems facing Kentucky, our nation and the world. This position may be eligible for remote work for candidates with prior research administration experience. We invite you to join us as a Post-Award Functional Expert. This individual must demonstrate an expert level of understanding of sponsored project post-award processes and associated university and sponsor policies. They will serve as first point of contact for compliance review for CGS post-award sponsored research activity and will perform a monthly review of all sponsored awards within an assigned complex award portfolio and provides support to a CGS post-award team to ensure all charges are allowable, allocable and reasonable (i.e. adhere to all sponsor and UK requirements as well as GAAP). This individual will serve as a subject matter expert in grant management processes and a resource/advisor for post-award team members for CGS processes and procedures. The Collaborative Grant Services (CGS) department has been created in response to Project GATeWAY (Grants Administration Transformation as the WAY forward). Over the last decade, UK has nearly doubled its total awards for sponsored research, and in the past 5 years, sponsored research has grown more than 40%.
