Performs direct observation of the patient with a mental health or behavioral safety need. Utilizes specialized training, deescalation techniques and other interventions as applicable to create a therapeutic and calming environment for patients. Communicates patient mental and/or physical status changes to the primary Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Leader. Completes data collection related to patient care, administers basic treatments and procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse, and communicates patient responses to the care provided to the Registered Nurse. Assumes personal accountability for organizational mission and core values.What You Bring/Job Requirements:In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: * High School Diploma or GED* Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related human services field, preferred* One year experience in an acute care setting, mental health, human services or related* Strong interpersonal skills* Knowledge of therapeutic interventions* Basic computer skills* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart AssociationMedium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly.
