![]() Senior Clinical Research Coordinator (CLIN RSCH CRD SR NEX)-SOM:MED:PUBLIC HEALTH SCIENCES Job Summary Our mission is to improve the health of people through large scale regional, national and international population-based approaches by carrying out epidemiologic, biomedical, and informatics research, educational programs, public service and policy development. The Translational Liver Cancer Epidemiology Research Program conducts multi-disciplinary research that prioritizes prevention, early detection, and pathogenesis of liver cancer. The program focus is on translating new research discoveries into pragmatic interventions across diverse populations. Our approach involves human physiology and multi-center longitudinal cohort studies, case-control studies, and clinical trials. The team also conducts environmental and occupational epidemiology studies involving multi-disciplinary teams. Our team interfaces with a diverse array of research participants, including healthy volunteers, people at risk for cancer, people with liver disease, and cancer patients. This is a fulltime, career position located on the UC Davis Medical Center campus in Sacramento. Under the direction of the study site PIs and supervised by the Clinical Research Supervisor, this position serves as Senior Clinical Research Coordinator for the Department of Public Health Sciences. The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator (Sr. CRC) provides advanced-level working knowledge and leadership of study management activities in the Department of Public Health Sciences. The incumbent is responsible for daily activities of several studies and plays a key role in study conduct and management, in addition to overseeing, mentoring, and training junior clinical research personnel. The incumbent is responsible for organizing the documentation and files pertaining to studies and for coordinating activities of investigators and study participants. This position requires the use of skills to a) independently coordinate and follow through in overall administration and outcome of studies, and b) oversee the work of junior clinical research personnel by providing oversight, training, and monitoring. Incumbent will recruit and screen study participants, coordinate treatment and/or specimen collection, conduct follow-up as dictated by the study protocol, facilitate continued participation; abstract data from medical records and other sources; collect, submit and maintain study data and regulatory documents; develop and ensure compliance with study protocols; and participate in the planning, development and budgeting of studies. The incumbent will oversee and provide guidance, education, and training to junior clinical research staff at UC Davis as well as clinical research staff at other Institutions involved in multi-center studies. Sr. CRCs are expected to achieve professional certification in Clinical Research and are expected to independently manage large complex studies. This level requires use of advanced-level knowledge and skills to independently coordinate, direct, and follow through in the overall administration and outcome of one or more studies. The incumbent will provide leadership for the clinical research program, including guiding and mentoring clinical research coordinators, associates, and/or other support personnel.
