Decision Support Specialist 3 (REMOTE) (DECISION SUPP SPEC 3) Job Summary The Decision Support Specialist 3 conducts detailed financial analyses including service line profitability, cost initiatives, physician centered metrics, long range financial analysis, forecasting, pro forma analysis, and business plan development for various Hospital and School of Medicine (SOM) departments with an emphasis of support for the Practice Management Board (PMB) within the SOM. Proactively identifies a variety of analyses related to patient volumes and financial measures with a focus on improving the financial performance of UC Davis Health. Collaboratively works with other UC campuses to research and implement best practices and innovative ideas. Assists with financial performance improvements through the use of analytical tools, business knowledge, and a close working relationship with leadership. Provides decision support and recommendations to senior leadership by providing detailed financial analyses supporting the strategic needs of Hospital and SOM departments by developing business plans, assessing professional revenue opportunities, analyzing clinical productivity, developing long range budgets for investments, and providing financial analyses for patient access related projects. Proactively develops, interprets, and implements solutions with a focus on improving processes using innovative ideas and techniques. Analyzes and develops recommendations regarding financial implications to the SOM's current and prospective clinical programs through the benchmarking of processes and metrics in order to further develop the clinical practices, consolidate efficiency, and improve financial and utilization performance.
