 General Accountant 4 (GEN ACCOUNTANT 4) Job Summary The Accountant 4 performs moderately-to-highly complex professional accounting and financial duties for the Health System. Plans, develops and coordinates moderately-to-highly complex professional financial analysis in a highly independent manner and using comprehensive knowledge of general ledger and budgetary systems, accounting, and healthcare financial practices. Prepares financial analyses and reports including variance analysis reports, statistical reports, and other ad-hoc financial reports for presenting to various levels of personnel, from departmental staff to senior management. Provides analytical support to improve finance processes. Acts as a general accounting liaison to various departments on an assortment of moderately-to-highly complex projects, including system implementations, process designs and redesigns, and financial system training. Prepares recommendations and financial models to assist the organization in improving Medical Center general accounting recording and reporting. Additional areas of responsibility include monthly closing journal entries and reconciliations, internal and external audit support, cross training with the School of Medicine Accountant 4, School of Medicine financial reporting, and a wide variety of on-going and ad hoc financial functions.
