Department: Temp Center Northwestern University is seeking a temporary Full-time Grants Administrator for the Evanston campus. The Grants Administrator position will provide oversight of post award grants management, accounting, compliance and ad hoc projects. This position is in the Kellogg School of Management Financial Administration reports directly to the Director Financial Administration. All functions listed below are performed with a high degree of independence and must be performed with professionalism and integrity. Analysis, Statements & Reporting: � Records journal entries and creates reports. � Performs financial account reconciliations, statement analysis, and transaction research Grants/Awards: � Verifies accurate set up of sponsored project accounts. � Manages effort commitments of key project personnel. � Process cost share transactions. � Reviews PI funding status on a monthly basis. � Reconciles standard budget & payroll information ensuring that appropriate sponsored accounts are charged. � Facilities account close out activities, coordinating with ASRSP. � Ensures compliance with all appropriate NU policies & practices; local, state, federal, agency & sponsor rules, regulations& requirements regarding grant &/or contract administration � Works with ASRSP regarding financial grants management issues. � Alerts supervisor to potential compliance issues. � Provides support for internal &/or granting agency audit requests. � Communicates with PI, other unit and project personnel, OSR, ASRSP accordingly Administration: � Processes & presents data & information through the application of database, graphic & spreadsheet software. � Obtains data by downloading from enterprise systems; develops and runs queries. Miscellaneous � Performs other duties as assigned. Skills, knowledge, and abilities � Proficient in the use of spreadsheet, database and word processing software. � Familiarity with financial reporting. � Ability to calculate arithmetic computations. � Detail-oriented. � Multi-tasking. � Time management. � Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees. � Ability to work independently, with minimal direct supervision. � Ability to communicate effectively with non-financial customers Software Required: MS Office suite 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
