Department: Law Tax Program Responsible for a broad range of organizational functions, with primary responsibility for development and implementation of strategies for recruitment of applicants to the LLM Tax program and enrollment of admitted students. Responsible for the direction and execution of day-to-day operations of the program. Works collaboratively with Faculty Director to recruit faculty for Tax Program and advises on departmental operational and strategic planning issues. Proactively builds and maintains collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the Tax program reputation. Manages program budget in excess of $3.4MM. Provides direction and development for the Program Assistant who assists with all administrative functions. Target hiring range for this position will be between $61,242 - $81,552 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicants education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. Specific Responsibilities: Administration � Works collaboratively with the Director of the Tax Program and tax faculty to direct and lead development of tax program strategic plan. � Oversees & ensures that day-to-day operations of the tax program are appropriately managed, efficient and effective. � Analyzes data & recommends/implements enhancements to ensure attainment of tax program mission. Budgets & Financial � Manages Tax Program budget totaling approximately $3.4MM, including revenue projections and analyzing budget performance. � Reviews expenses for accuracy and allowability; provides level I and level II approvals. � Forecasts tax budget on quarterly basis and provides annual budget projections. � Reconciles and problem-solves budgetary issues. Communication, Outreach & Recruitment � Evaluates current recruitment activities, and implements new marketing and recruitment strategies to increase qualified candidates to the program. � Develops innovative programming & executes tactical and communications marketing plans with the overall goal of improving the tax programs visibility and reputation. � Monitor, measure, and communicate the effectiveness of marketing initiatives and implement changes as necessary. � Proactively builds, maintains, and fosters relationships with outside stakeholders to increase profile of tax program. These include partners at law firms, Big4 accounting firms and other tax related professionals. � Cultivates alumni engagement to deepen commitment and support of Tax Program. � Facilitates connections of various graduation classes to support alumni networking (of more than 700 world-wide) and connect current students (approximately 45 full-time and 25 part-time) into the expanding network for mentorship and career opportunities. Events � Serves as Tax Program ambassador at tax related events and conferences. � Manages logistics of tax program of events such as lectures, symposia, speaker series, workshops, and conferences in collaboration with internal & external resources. Program Development � Manages tax program goals, objectives, outcome measurements and metrics, financial feasibility, marketing strategies and collaboration opportunities with other internal and external organizations. � Provides leadership for planning, scheduling, delivering and maintaining tax program projects to sustain quality instruction in all educational activity. Strategic Planning � Creates & leads a coordinated program of activities designed to increase program/project objectives. Student Support � Implements department strategy regarding structure, process, & staff support of students in compliance with NU policy. � Develops and implements tailored programming for students and alumni related to current and relevant tax topics. � Manages student recruitment, orientation, graduation, student interaction and support, marketing, budget, and acting as a liaison between 45 faculty members, students, alumni, internal and external partners. � Resolves student issues. � Interacts frequently with the Law Registrar & assures all Registrar-oriented deadlines are met. Supervision � Management of tax program assistant, including direct supervision, accountability for recruitment, training, workflow design and overall performance management of staff. � Ensures appropriate level of service to meet needs of tax faculty and students. Miscellaneous Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: � Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience. � 4 years program/project administration or other relevant experience.
