The finance program in the Michael Neidorff School of Business offers a finance major degree with two concentrations, in Corporate Finance and Investments. The finance degree is a CFA affiliated program and highly experiential. Finance students have the opportunity to manage more than $10 million real money as part of the Student Managed Fund, which is one of the largest undergraduate student-run investment funds in the nation. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide effective practice-oriented instruction at undergraduate level in an liberal arts environment, in areas that enhance the core pedagogical instruction provided by the tenured and tenure-track faculty. Primary teaching responsibilities will be within the finance area, and expected teaching load is the equivalent of four courses per academic semester.

• Actively contribute to the development of finance and business courses, contributing to curricula that are timely, innovative, and congruent with changes in the profession.

• Support the program's efforts to enhance student success in terms of experiential learning, internship placement, and initial professional placements.

• Take a leadership role in enhancing the department's existing programs, such as the Real Estate Finance program, the CFA program, among others, and developing new initiatives that enhance the strategic plans of the department, the Neidorff School of Business, and the University.

• Support the department, school, and university in building and sustaining productive internal and external stakeholder relationships (including, but not limited to the business community, alumni, Business Advisory Council, and professional organizations).

• Participate in special projects and activities that advance the achievement and strategic objectives of the department, the school and the university.

• Assist in university and program admission and retention efforts and provide advising and mentoring of undergraduate students

• The finance curriculum offers courses in corporate finance, investments, international finance, sustainable finance, valuation, derivatives and alternative investing, and personal finance. Successful candidate is expected to teach a variety of the courses offered by the department.

EDUCATION

Required:

A Master's degree in Finance or a Master's degree in a closely-related field (e.g. Accounting, Economics, MBA) from an AACSB accredited university

Preferred:

Doctoral degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration from an AACSB accredited university

EXPERIENCE

Preferred:

• Demonstrated significant and substantive work experience in finance, accounting, or related fields.

• Demonstrated ability to be an effective teacher

• Demonstrated leadership in developing and enhancing programs

• Demonstrated collegiality, respect, and empathy for the inclusion of diverse stakeholders

• Hold professional certification in Finance (e.g. CFA Charterholder)

• Executive level experience

• International work experience

• Community outreach experience (e.g., service to the profession, service on private, public, or non-profit boards)

• Understanding of the Trinity mission and the role of the Department of Finance and Decision Sciences within the School of Business and the greater university.
