The Regional ICG Operations Risk and Control head is responsible for ensuring adoption of and compliance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework for Operations in the APAC region. The role has direct management of local market control officers and indirect management responsibility for the product and governance aligned operations risk and control teams in the region. The APAC Operations risk and control head is also required to represent ICG Operations in senior governance risk forums and committees, and externally with regulators where required.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure robust control frameworks exist and operate effectively to manage and oversee Operational and Compliance risk
Provide an independent challenge function to LOBs to ensure proactive identification of emerging risks
Manage and set direction in the quality, completeness, and accuracy of the implementation of the Control Framework, including Risk Control Policy, Control Standard, Issue Management Policy, Lesson Learned Policy, and Control Inventory.
Ensure risk and control responsibilities and accountabilities are embedded within Operations groups, including providing training where required.
Review and provide governance over the implementation of the Operational Risk Management (ORM) Policy working with the Risk, Process and Control Owners to ensure consistent implementation within Operations, including governance and management reporting and recommendations to manage residual risk.
Lead governance and the facilitation of the execution of the Manager Control Assessment as required by the MCA Standard including the assessment and appropriate approval of risk associated with business changes.
Manage and set direction in the identification of issue root cause, partnering with global team and process owners to recommend corrective actions and improvements, provide check and challenge to ensure appropriate escalation in according with Issue Management and Escalation Policies.
Responsible for the implementation of Lessons Learned Policy regionally, including monitoring of control breaches and dissemination and learnings across other business units for process improvement to limit the occurrence of similar future events and where similar risk exposure might exist.
Independently review and challenge of Operations effective design and management of controls to mitigate risks as required by the Control Standards, including implementation and operation, conducting the control monitoring, handling deficiencies, and escalating issues f or resolution.
Lead / participate where required, the risk scenario analysis and stress testing for Operational Risk Capital requirements in conjunction with Finance and Independent Risk (ORM).
Promotes and embeds the appropriate risk culture for the region through training and demonstrating the correct personal behaviour, conduct and business practices.
Builds collaborative relationships with 2LoD and 3LoD colleagues to ensure appropriate application of, and compliance with, the Enterprise Risk Management Framework

Qualifications:

15+ years relevant experience
Experienced in Operational Risk and/or Enterprise Risk Management Frameworks from a 1st or 2nd line perspective
Experience in managing regional / global Operations teams also an advantage
Proficient in developing innovative ideas to mitigate risk and improve current processes
Prioritizes high impact potential problems effectively.
Articulates clearly and appropriately contextualises emerging and realised risks and mitigants.
Able to represent ICG Operations in regional senior governance forums both internally and externally, e.g., with regulators, Audit committee, Risk and Control forums
