The Deputy AD/COO is responsible to the Vice President for Athletics for leading, monitoring and ensuring successful operations within the Business & HR Services, Facilities, Event Operations, Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning Units.

Basic Responsibilities
A. Directs and oversees ongoing programs and activities of the Business & HR Services, Facilities, Event Operations, Sports Medicine, Strength/Conditioning Units. Ensure proper management, planning, controlling, coordinating, negotiating, budgeting, counseling, advising others, and resolving problems.
B. Serve as a member of the executive team and a sport administrator for assigned sports.
C. Maintain understanding of all NCAA and WAC rules and regulations governing member institutions as well as University institutional policies, develop specific procedures, and guides the implementation of these to ensure University compliance.
D. Establish and maintain outstanding relationships with campus constituents to develop a teamwork approach to all institutional control tasks.
E. Performs other duties as necessary and assigned by the VP for Athletics.
Essential Duties
A. Responsible for ensuring adequate and efficient Business & HR office functions including, but not limited to, budget planning, monitoring, forecasting, accounts payable and receivable, contract management, human resources administration, employment policy and procedures.
B. Responsible for ensuring adequate and efficient facility and event operations office functions including, but not limited to, day to day facility oversight, long term planning & deferred maintenance schedules, capital projects, all ACU gameday and outside events operations.
C. Oversight and personnel management of the Sport Medicine and Strength/Conditioning units.
D. Responsible for serving as Chief Operating Officer and supporting VP for Athletics (AD) where responsibilities include, but are not limited to, point of contact between AD and other stakeholders, act as an advisor when called upon, oversee employment & personnel matters and the in absence of AD serve as one of the decision-making authorities in matters unrelated to sport supervision.
E. Serve in primary administrative role in educating campus constituents, and implementing satisfactory processes, to meet NCAA Division best practices and competitive standards.
