Location: Cloquet, MN Full/Part Time: Full Time Employment Condition: Unlimited Job Description: The Associate Degree Nursing Program at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College is seeking a full time nursing instructor to join our team that is passionate about adequately preparing nursing students that will be able to meet the current and future needs in healthcare. This position reports to the Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences and teaches in the classroom, lab and clinical settings. The selected individual will be expected to provide quality instruction that aligns with both current best practice and program learning outcomes. Position Responsibilities: *Develops and delivers course instruction that utilizes a variety of teaching techniques, regularly includes active learning activities, and engages students in clinical reasoning. *Assigns, supervises, and evaluates students in a variety clinical settings, including simulated experiences. *Conducts student evaluation using a variety of assessment methods. *Mentors nursing students. *Contributes to curriculum development, curriculum evaluation, accreditation, student success, and other program and institutional initiatives. *Participates in program goal setting and planning activities. *Carries out goals and outcomes related to program student learning outcomes and systematic evaluation plans. *Attends and participates in nursing program and faculty meetings. *Participates in college and program committee assignments. Required Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education Requirement * Graduate degree with a major in nursing, OR * Bachelor's degree in nursing and a graduate degree in support of the field of nursing and/or education Occupational Requirement * Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level. As a registered nurse at the professional level, experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected student and faculty outcomes; including experiential preparation in the areas the faculty will teach Recency Requirement One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years. Professional Requirement * Current unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with current registration in Minnesota * Other Requirement: Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments. TEACHING AND LEARNING COMPETENCY REQUIREMENT * Course construction (credit course) Teaching/Instructional methods (credit course) Student outcomes assessments/evaluation(credit course) Philosophy of community and technical college education (credit or non-credit course) These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. ** This course shall be waived for individuals who, at the time of hire, have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework. Preferred Qualifications: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Current Clinical experience in an acute care setting. Teaching experience. *Experience with nursing in rural and/or tribal communities. Other Requirements: In accordance with the Minnesota State's Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be require to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
