POSITION SUMMARY: The Program Coordinator advises and meets the needs of students from the Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Desi American (APIDA) communities at the five undergraduate Claremont Colleges through the student leadership development efforts, programs, projects and events of the Asian American Resource Center, the Student Affairs division, and the intercollegiate department of Asian American Studies (IDAAS). The Program Coordinator provides appropriate collaboration and support to students regarding personal, academic, and professional issues. This position also serves as a professional staff member of the Asian American Resource Center on various committees across the 5-Claremont Colleges (5C) and in support of trainings, retreats, and workshops relating to the AARC mission. Reporting directly to the Asian American Resource Assistant Director, the Program Coordinator performs the following essential duties and responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in the areas of Higher Education, Asian American Studies, Cultural Studies, Women's Studies, Counseling or discipline related to the work of the Asian American Resource Center is required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid driver's license is required or equivalent means of reliable transportation to off-site meetings and events. Experience working with APIDA undergraduate students and student development at a college level academic institution is preferred. Preferred experience working with underrepresented APIDA communities including South Asian, Southwest Asian, Pacific Islander, or Southeast Asian. ADDITIONAL POSITION DETAILS: Regular, full-time, benefits eligible, non-exempt position. The salary for this role is between $27.80-$29.86 per hour, with a competitive benefits package. The specific factors that the organization will consider when offering a salary to an individual will include education, training, prior experience, and performance in prior role. All staff positions are ineligible for visa or permanent resident card sponsorship. As a California employer, Pomona College requires all employees to be residents of California. REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are 40 hours per week between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday â“ Friday.
