Internal Job Number: P07299UF Description: The Honors College at Oregon State University is seeking a Communications Coordinator This is a full-time (1.00 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position. The Oregon State University Honors College (HC) is a degree granting authority within Oregon State University (OSU). The overall mission of the HC is to provide an innovative, enriched learning experience and a small college atmosphere to motivated, capable undergraduates, integrating students from all academic colleges and departments into a cohesive community. Admission to the HC is by application. The HC supports a student population of 1800 students. The communications coordinator position is responsible for creating and disseminating print, social, web, and video content. The coordinator reports to the Honors College Assistant Dean of Admissions, First-Year Engagement, and Communications (supervisor) and the Honors College Assistant Dean of External Relations and Student Engagement. This role requires versatile communication, writing, and design skills; the ability to tell impactful stories across a wide range of media; familiarity implementing marketing and brand guidelines; ability to create content using industry standard design tools and applications; the ability to adapt to shifting priorities; strong organizational abilities; and the ability to meet deadlines. The communications coordinator will supervise 3-5 student employees. The coordinator will independently adapt and create content based on feedback and data analytics and will remain aware of best practices communicating in a variety of formats, including print materials, digital communication/emails, web pages, video and social media content, and promotional materials. This position, like all Honors College positions, will be expected to advance the college's diversity, equity, and inclusion values and strategic priorities. Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty): Typically requires Bachelor's degree in field related to the discipline of the college, unit or department with professional communications and marketing experience. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months. Type: This position occasionally requires irregular hours which may require night and weekend work. The incumbent in this position needs to be available for implementation of communications on evenings and weekends. This position leads teams of student employees, including on occasion travel to locations across the state of Oregon. Additional Salary Information: $44,496 - $75,516
