![]() Director/Advancement Operations & Budget Position Number: S-3137 Type of Recruitment: External Position Summary: This position serves on the Vice President for Advancement Senior Leadership team, as the division's budget manager and serves on the division's gift acceptance and data management committees. This position handles all duties related to the facility/building, is responsible for a variety of monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports for various constituencies including CMU approved surveys, CMU administration, and the University Board of Trustees, directs all activities associated with processing a range of gift and pledge types, and directs all activities associated with creating and updating Alumni and other stakeholder constituent records in the unit's database. This position is expected to be knowledgeable in non-profit fund-raising best standards and practices. Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree. Four years of experience working with budgets or in a related field. Supervisory experience. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Ability to work quickly and decisively. Excellent customer service skills with both internal and external constituencies. Experience using SAP. Experience in non-profit fund-raising. Understanding of a range of gift types including planned gifts, gifts of securities, and gifts-in-kind. Understanding of a range of fund types including endowed funds, discretionary funds, and capital funds. Duties & Responsibilities: Works with the unit leaders and Advancement leadership to establish and monitor the budgets for all Advancement units. Supervises and provides direction for the Gift Entry staff. Supervises and provides direction for the Administrative Assistant for the Director of Advancement Operations & Budget. Develops and provides Advancement leadership with private support reports and regular campaign update reports. Ensures that processes and procedures comply with tax substantiation rules and gift reporting regulations. Serves as the staff leader on all gift tax issues and works directly with Advancement leadership on such. Leads all building operations for Carlin Alumni House. Responsible for projects as assigned. Serves as a liaison to CMUs Finance Planning and Budgeting, Accounting Services, and Internal and External Auditors regarding financial reporting, auditing, and account reconciliations.
