Job Summary:
Under direction, creates and delivers multiple instructor-led and computer-based trainings for Human Resources systems and processes. Works with functional team members and process owners to test new system enhancements and provide input into business processes and course content. Investigates new training technologies and techniques. Maintains documentation and job aids for all HR processes, including managing a system for disseminating that information. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and requires a certain degree of creativity and latitude. 

Principal Accountabilities:
Training Development

• Consults with management, subject matter experts, and the HR Service Center (askHR) to identify training needs of the organization.
• Develops training objectives, writes training programs, and designs laboratory exercises for a hybrid (synchronous and asynchronous online, and in-person) training curriculum.
• Assists in preparation of content and curriculum for HR-sponsored lectures, meetings, group discussions, demonstrations, and workshops. 
• Researches and develops enhancements to existing training programs, including a regular assessment of existing training content and design of online delivery techniques.
• Collaborates with process owners, SMEs, and IT staff to create documentation and test cases for new systems, updates, or enhancements.

Training Delivery 

• Conducts regularly scheduled technical and non-technical training events online and at both primary campuses (Evanston and Chicago).
• Coordinates and manages communications to the user community regarding training offerings, process updates, and system announcements.
• Manages reservations for the HR training classroom.
• Facilitates open lab sessions and internal HR employee onboarding. 

Training Administration

• Conducts administrative tasks associated with training programs, including but not limited to scheduling training events, reserving rooms, maintaining, and troubleshooting registration, conducting participant evaluations and course assessments, and communicating with participants before and after class. 
• Works with supervisor and HR Service Center (askHR) to collect and track outcome data regarding the impact of training on the knowledge and competency of NU community that use and access HR systems.
• Coordinates with HR Systems Access Lead regarding the completion of required training in order to grant access to HR systems.

Documentation Maintenance 

• Develops and manages online help resources, including websites, news articles, forms, and knowledge base systems.
• Regularly reviews accuracy of all electronic and printed training materials, process flows, and procedure guides.
• Updates and maintains content on the HR website for systems administration and processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Business, Education, or related degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience. 
• Experience delivering hands-on training, with a preference for experience in software training of adult learners in an academic environment. 
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products including layout, design, graphics, and templates.
• Knowledge of Adobe Captivate, Articulate, or other eLearning development software.
• Communication Excellent facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to design and develop written instructional materials. Communicate effectively one-on-one, in small groups and in public speaking contexts. 
• Customer Focus Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with peers, management, and the general university community. Implement qualitative and quantitative mechanisms to track and act on learner feedback in order to improve training offerings. 
• Efficiency Plan, organize, and schedule in a productive manner. Demonstrate ability to problem solve, think critically, and multi-task. Seeks and leverages process improvement techniques. 
• Experience writing and managing web content.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Advanced degree in adult education, curriculum development, organizational development and training, or related field.
• Experience in developing of non-print instructional materials using web-based or multi-media applications.
• Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft HCM and Cascade.
• Experience with reporting and analytical skills, including intermediate experience in Excel, Tableau, or similar tools.
   

Target hiring range for this position will be between $55,128-$61,813 per year.  Offered salary will be determined by the applicants education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
