The role you’ll contribute: The Division Revenue Integrity Infusion and Injection Coder under the general supervision of the Division Revenue Integrity Manager is responsible for assigning Infusion and Injection codes and completing Charge Review to ER and Outpatient medical records, following coding Essentials for Infusion and Injection Therapy Services. Responsibility to adhere to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan, to the rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies, and to the standards of all accrediting bodies. The value you’ll bring to the team: 1. Requires charge capture and coding knowledge of Infusion and Injection Therapy Services 2. Codes Infusion and Injection Therapy Services on qualifying records following departmental policies and procedures. a. Reviews assigned charges within the medical record to verify what is ordered and what procedures are carried out. b. Monitors the status of the unbilled reports, charges, and missing documents, and corrects errors to ensure the charge review process is completed promptly. c. Reviews and requests charge corrections on patient accounts and make changes and account activity requests as appropriate. i. Demonstrates attention to detail, thoroughness, and accuracy in daily work. ii. Completes high-quality work following outlined standards and procedures within defined time frames. d. Assumes responsibility to maintain knowledge and compliance with all current hospital and departmental policies. 3. Completes charge reviews for multiple facilities and regions promptly. 4. Encourages teamwork by working collaboratively within the department as well as with other departments to ensure accounts are coded and billed timely. 5. Occasionally trains others, as in orientation of new employees or acting as a preceptor for workers learning new skills. 6. Communicates to various departments when charges need adding, deleting, or changing and when discharge dispositions and patient type/status need clarifying. 7. Professional demeanor, patience, and tact are required in dealing with all staff within the department, the facility, and outside influences. 8. Requires compliance with department Charge Capture, as well as any governmental coding regulations. 9. Participates in department performance improvement reviews and charge capture reviews. 10. Successfully meets requirements to perform Infusion and Injections charge reviews for all patient types required at this level. 11. Manages time to ensure productivity and accuracy requirements are met. Qualifications The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed: Minimum qualifications: Associates Degree in business, health administration, or another related field; OR, in lieu of Bachelor’s Degree, 2-5 years of applicable experience Two to three years of healthcare revenue cycle experience with a focus on one or more of the following areas: coding, charge integrity, charge reconciliation, charge compliance, charge auditing, and CDM compliance or relevant clinical hospital experience.
