Summary of Position:

The Accounting Manager position is responsible for staff supervision and the supervision of the accounting department responsibilities. This position will work closely with the Estimating and Operations departments and will lead the daily accounting operations and HR responsibilities.

Job Duties:

• Ensures an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
• Budget reports, preparation of budgets and forecasts, and analysis of budgets.
• Manages and performs general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, financial reporting, and taxes.
• Create workers' compensation report for insurance
• Reviews and analyzes financial statements to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP)
• Perform ad hoc analyses and projects as requested
• Risk management
• Create certified payroll reports
• Documents and interprets complicated financial information for managers and executives.
• Revenue stream, cash flow, and reserve level management
• Maintain current knowledge of current accounting standards and state and federal policies

Selection Criteria:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Education: Minimum 2-year accounting/business degree, 4-year preferred
• Contracting Accounting experience preferred
• Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills required
• Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and work independently
• High level of experience with QuickBooks (or equivalent), Microsoft Excel, and relevant programs
