Job title: BE/BC Critical Care Physician Location: Southern, New Jersey Job Description Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and Cooper University Health Care are actively committed to diversity at all levels of the organization and seeking a BE/BC Cardiology trained Critical Care physician to immediately join a renowned critical care academic center. Our forward thinking, innovative academic practice has changed the way critical care is practiced throughout the world, but most importantly at home in southern New Jersey. You will have the opportunity to practice in a tertiary care academic center. The ideal candidate would be interested in developing a section of Cardiac Critical Care. Our Cardiac Surgeons do approximately 1000 surgeries annually, we have a moderate sized mechanical circulatory support program, and the institution is in the process of developing a durable ventricular assist device program. The position provides unique opportunities to work within our multi-disciplinary critical care program. Successful candidates should have a strong clinical, leadership and teaching skills. Further opportunities to develop as a researcher, administrator or educator in the field of Critical Care will exist. Our practice covers eleven intensive care units across seven hospitals, and we have thirty-five full-time Intensivists. About Cooper University Hospital Cooper University Hospital is a level one trauma center and a 635 bed University Hospital. We are the only tertiary care center and the first Advanced Certified Comprehensive Stroke Unit in Southern New Jersey. We employ more than 900 physicians and 325 trainees in all medical and surgical specialties. Cooper University Hospital has its own on-campus medical school, the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU). Academic Appointments are available to all physicians at the Instructor, Assistant Professor and Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine levels at CMSRU. About Cooper Critical Care: We are the oldest critical care training program in the Philadelphia area. The program continues to train fellows in the practice of critical care, supports and an active advance practice provider service and we have brought our academic excellence to the community. Since 2015, we have practiced outside our tertiary care hospital, improving care and recently playing a key role in guiding southern New Jersey through the pandemic.
